My family (our two baby girls) and I traveled to Winnipeg, Canada (my second home, where I used to spend every summer) for two weeks for a vacation, and I did a couple photoshoots while up there! Traveling on two airplanes (no direct flight from Fort Lauderdale or Miami to Winnipeg, sadly) with a 2.5 year old and a 6-month old, is not an easy task! But it was totally worth it for the time spent with family, the relaxing (as much as we can squeeze in during their naps), the boating & tubing, and most of all for seeing all of my family up there :):) I also got to be part of the bachelorette party & the bridal shower, for my cousins Elizabeth’s wedding, which I’m going to be a bridesmaid in, in just a few weeks, so I’ll be flying back up for the weekend with just Baby Tree Two!
Anyways, on to this family photoshoot…
It’s an amazing honor, when you’re requested to take the family photographs of another photographer! I met Sadie about 8 summers ago, when we were both counselors at Red Rock Bible Camp. She came to my wedding, and her then-boyfriend even helped the videographers out at our wedding. Now they’re married, with an extremely adorable 5-month old, and Cody is a wedding/family photographer as well!! Check out his work here. We invited them out to my parents cabin out by Kenora, on Clearwater Bay on Lake of the Woods in Ontario, to spend the afternoon with us at the lake before the photos, and I’m so glad we did! <3
Baby K did so well despite kinda missing her previous nap (it’s like kids know they’re about to have photos taken & should be happy, and so they do something to throw off their schedule/be grumpy, almost every time! At least, personally with my two littles, that’s how it feels very often! Good thing they’re so cute!!), we got so many big smiles out of her still. And I love how much expression she can make with that lil face of hers! You’ll see further down below…
A favorite…
I looked at the time stamp on these two photos…they were taken within the same second! From that hilarious face she’s making in the left photo, to a big grin!! :)
These were too cute not to blog….
Thank you again, Sadie & Cody, for the honor of capturing your sweet family! We had such a great time spending the day together, hanging out & our boat ride! Grateful for re-connecting with friends in this same stage of life as us :)
