Guatemala: Casa Jackson

FILED IN: Personal, Personal

Two weeks ago, we were walking into our second day volunteering at Casa Jackson in Guatemala, a hospital for mal-nourished children. It was an amazing two days that we spent there with the kids, feeding them, playing with them, changing them, helping them sleep  <3

We originally were trying to find an orphanage to volunteer at, but this ended up being just right. David & I loved the time spent with each child, knowing we’re helping them to get healthy so they can go back home.

That’s Emmanuel on the left that David’s holding, and Jimena on the right  :)

Beto. He pretty much runs the place. Or wishes he did  :) This is an adorable moment of calm in the hospital.

I spent lots of time with Jimena  :)

And this is Christina! She’s absolutely tiny for her age, she’s supposed to be about a year old if I remember correctly.

Love her  :)

If you’re ever in Guatemala & want someplace to volunteer…seriously do it at Casa Jackson. I wish we could’ve stayed weeks & helped out much more. The director Amy, is super sweet. And of course the kids are wonderful & adorable  :)
